My Introduction Into the World of Essential Oils

As many of you know, I love essential oils. They have been a huge part of my life for the past 10 years now. I have attended many, many trainings over the years, mainly in Salt Lake City under Alexandria Brighton.

Over the years, I have had many amazing results with essential oils but unfortunatly documenting them has been a weakness of mine, but I am going to work on that! So to begin with I will tell you about my introduction into the world of essential oils.

About 12 years ago, (just before my 2nd child was born) my dad gave me a CD to listen to about minerals and how every illness can be traced back to mineral deficiencies. It fascinated me, and I wanted to learn more, this started my path towards where I am now.

About a year later, I was encouraged to go to an essential oil training that was taking place in Edmonton. Until then I had just thought of them as smelly vodoo stuff, but I was curious and decided to go. I was blown away by all of the possibilities that were talked about during the training. I purchased a few of the highly recommended ones and went on my way.

That week was a crazy busy one, I had the training, a barrel racing futurity in Southern Alberta (I was still living in Valleyview at this time) and a wedding in Calgary. I got very run down (as a teenager and all through college, I had strep throat often). While at the wedding, I started to feel unwell and felt the familiar pain in my throat, by morning my glands were so swollen I couldn't even swallow. I went to a clinic in Calgary the morning we were heading home. They said they would send my results to Valleyview.

I then started using the oils that I had that were recommended for this kind of illness. I took diluted capsules of Spice of Life (now called Tri Remedy) and Rosemary Cineole 1.8, I rubbed diluted Rosemary Cineole 1.8 and Eucalyptus Radiata over my throat and on my feet and did the 'lick trick' with Tea Tree Oil.

By the time we got home that night, I was feeling much better, and by morning it was almost gone, and all symptoms were gone by the end of that day. I continued with my protocol for a couple more days and then just continued applying to the feet for a few days after that.

A day after I got home, I got a call from the pharmacy to come and get my antibiotics as I did in fact have strep throat. I told them I no longer needed them. I have not had strep throat since then. At the first sign of a scratchy throat, I do the lick trick with Tea Tree or Sandalwood oil.

Also since I started using essential oils, I hardly ever get sick and the same goes for my children. They have had no antibiotics since that time either. If they do get sick, it is only for a short period of time. So that is how i got started, I will periodically be posting more stories and results of these amazing gifts of nature!
